More Realities from the Road The same driver shared a contrasting memory. Once, during heavy rain, a lady with her school-going child waited for a cab. Though the distance was short - often refused by drivers - he agreed. She offered a ₹500 note. The driver advised her to keep change, especially while travelling with a child. He returned the exact amount without cutting even a rupee. Touched, she said, “You speak like my father. I see him in you.” She didn’t take the money back.
