Poisonous Poison: Silent Math
Poisonous Poison: The Silent Mathematics of Caste
Mathivation Research Lab Initiative
Background: Mathivation Research Lab Initiative
At Mathivation Research Lab, we explore human behaviour through structured observation, lived experiences, and analytical reflection.
This initiative does not aim to criticize communities or traditions.
Its purpose is to:
- Understand patterns of human conditioning
- Decode social imbalances through “Life Math”
- Present reality in a balanced, evidence-based narrative
Caste, as a concept, has historical roots in division of work and identity.
However, over time, its application has shifted - from functional classification to psychological separation.
This chapter is an attempt to observe that shift.
Case Studies (Live Examples)
Case Study 1: Respect Interrupted
During preparations for a mrityu bhoj, a group of teachers visited a dairy to finalize arrangements.
Later, they were hosted at a relative’s house.
- Seating was arranged
- Water and tea were served
- A subtle request followed - indicating that some individuals should clean their own glasses
This was not said aggressively - but it carried deep-rooted conditioning.
At that moment, the host intervened:
“They are teachers. I will not commit this wrong.”
A simple statement - yet a powerful correction.
Case Study 2: Relationship Redefined
In another instance, a trusted family friend - treated like a brother - visited his friend’s married sister to bring her home.
Everything was respectful until a ritual moment.
As a traditional ceremony began, it was stopped with a statement:
“He is not my real brother. He is not from our caste.”
The ritual paused.
The relationship was reclassified.
Respect was no longer based on bond, but on identity.
Analysis: The Mathematics of Division
In an ideal system:
Reflections: A Balanced View
It is essential to maintain balance:
- Not every individual practices discrimination
- Not every tradition is harmful
- Not every belief system is rigid
However:
- Unquestioned practices become normalized
- Silence strengthens outdated conditioning
At the same time:
- One aware individual can shift the narrative
- One act of fairness can break generational patterns
Takeaways
- Education does not automatically erase conditioning
- Awareness must be intentional and active
- Respect should be universal, not selective
- Social change begins with micro-level actions
Core Insight
Caste is not harmful in definition.
It becomes harmful when it starts deciding:
Who deserves dignity - and who does not.
Mathivation Insight
Inner Balance = Awareness - Conditioning
Growth begins when inherited beliefs are examined, not blindly accepted.
Social Math
If bias increases, the entire system weakens - regardless of progress in other areas.
Life Math
If values exclude equality,
even strong actions lead to imbalanced outcomes.
Disclaimer
This article is based on real-life observations and is intended for educational and reflective purposes only.
- It does not target any individual, caste, or community
- It does not aim to offend sentiments
- It encourages constructive thinking and self-awareness
The goal is not to judge - but to understand and evolve.
Closing Line
Some poisons are not visible -
they quietly shape how we see others.
The real transformation begins when we ask:
“Am I living by truth - or by inherited division?”
Mathivation Note
When society divides,
Mathivation connects.
Humanity > Identity
Honest Question
Have we truly outgrown caste in our thinking,
or have we simply learned to hide it behind education and silence?
